About
CHRIS KORICH
With a casting career that spans half a century, it may come as no surprise that Chris, alongside Steve and Tim Rajeff, is widely recognized as one of the greatest casters of all time. A long-time fixture at both the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club in San Francisco and the Oakland Casting Club, Chris now splits his time between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.
After a long and successful career as a tournament caster, Chris has added coaching to his repertoire, and as many would agree, has become the best casting coach in the world. His top student, Maxine McCormick, at 12 years old, became the youngest world champion gold medalist in the history of any sporting event and continues to dominate at tournaments around the world.
Korich's coaching style focuses on getting the fundamentals right with particular attention paid to grip and stance alignment, learning to make compact-effortless strokes and developing the skills to throw very narrow loops. Chris challenges his students to always strive for efficiency, teaching them to make flawless casts with the least amount of effort possible.
Sought out by anglers throughout the world for his expert knowledge, methodical approach to training and no nonsense advice, Korich is now available for private coaching, equipment consultation and group clinics. Chris also teaches his secret casting techniques through his online training program, The Fundamentals of Fly Casting, complete with step-by-step videos.
